In-to-Out Counselling Service

The Jigsaw Visitors’ Centre, in partnership with WYCCP Resettlement Service, offers a free of charge counselling service in West Yorkshire to the families of men serving a prison sentence and to men who have left prison.

What is counselling?

Counselling is often referred to as ‘talking therapy’.  Your counsellor will be there to support and encourage you to talk about any thoughts, feelings or difficulties you may be facing.  It is not about your counsellor telling you what to do.

We are currently offering telephone counselling appointments and/or socially distanced face-to-face appointments in the Jigsaw Visitors’ Centre counselling room.

What can I expect to happen?

Your counsellor will encourage you to talk in depth about your thoughts, feelings and emotions.

The process will help you to find solutions to cope with your situation and see things more clearly and will enable you to achieve greater insight and understanding of yourself.

Counselling sessions take place in a safe, confidential and therapeutic space, usually once a week.

How many counselling sessions will I have?

We do not limit the number of times you can meet with your counsellor. The number of sessions will vary from person to person.
