I have been a volunteer link worker with WYCCP for over a year now and have loved every single minute of it!
Being a volunteer link worker has provided me with invaluable experience that will prove useful for my future career path. It is a truly unique volunteering opportunity which has taught me so many practical and interpersonal skills. Before becoming a volunteer with WYCCP, I was very shy and quiet. The training offered by WYCCP allowed me to become confident in myself and the support that I offer to service users, as well as becoming more confident in daily life. The team at WYCCP have contributed greatly to this as they are always so helpful and supportive. Everyone in the office is always on hand to offer guidance or support should I need it.
Working to support men leaving prison has given me a real sense of achievement and provided me with a new outlook on life. I have learnt so much from WYCCP and love the work that we do.
